Step 7

Create a new layer by clicking Layer > New > Layer or Shift+Ctrl+N

Give the layer a name, preferably something meaningful e.g. bottom glow.

Select the Gradient Tool and the select Radial Gradient.

Select the gradient tool and prepare a white to transparent gradient.

Drag from bottom to top to fill the selected area with gradient.

Go to Select Filter>Blur>Motion blur and enter 1 for blur distance and 90 for angle.

Go to Select Filter>Blur>Gaussian blur and enter 18 for blur radius.

Set Layer Opacity to 88%.

Move your Layer object till it appears to be in the correct position.

Ctrl + Left click the Circle layer to make a selection.

Go to Select > Inverse Then press delete to get rid of anything that could be seen overlapping onto the white background.

Make sure 'bottom highlight' layer is selected and press the Delete key on your keyboard to delete the shape area outside the orb.

Ctrl + D to deselect.




Step 8

Create a new layer by clicking Layer > New > Layer or Shift+Ctrl+N.

Give the layer a name, preferably something meaningful E.g. top glow.

Ctrl + Left click the Circle layer to make a selection, go to Select>Modify>Contract and type 6 in the input box.

Change the colour Palette to white (Foreground).

Select the gradient tool and prepare a white to transparent gradient.

Drag from top to bottom to fill the selected area with gradient.

Go to Select > Inverse, Click the Bottom Layer and press delete. This will remove a little section from bottom layer. Press Ctrl+D to deselect.

That is basis for creating a Look a Like Orb.
