A little gem to show you how to animate the closing and opening of the DVD tray on a notebook.

Start by opening an image of a laptop with open DVD drive.

Insert a cutout of DVD.

Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select distort. Adjust nodes to fit the disc into DVD drive.

Create selection of the DVD drive using lasso tool. Press Ctrl+Shift+J to cut paste the selection into new layer. Select and merge DVD drive and disc layer.

Create some duplicate of the DVD drive layer and place as shown.

In last step the DVD drive should be completely inside the laptop.

Capture some sequential frames from some movie etc. Insert the captured frames in the main file.

Select all captured frame layers. Press Ctrl+T. Right click the layer and select distort. Adjust nodes to get the shape as shown.

Open animation window. For the first frame hide the DVD tray layers except the first one. Hide the captured frame layers too.

Duplicate frame. For each duplicate keep hiding and unhiding the DVD tray layers till the DVD is inside the laptop.

Duplicate frame. Start unhiding the sequential frame layers in every duplicate frame. The more frames you add, the smoother animation will look but be careful about the final size of the file as well.

This will create an illusion of some movie playing as soon as the DVD gets inside the laptop.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+S to save an optimized animated GIF.
